Two methods are used on site:
- Simple joint – after welding the inner pipe, the casing pipe is displaced and welded.
- A so-called “H” joint is used for anchors, axial compensators, branch lines, and line breaks, i.e., in places where the casing pipe cannot be moved and a space between the casing pipes is created after welding the inner pipe. This gap is closed by a longitudinally cut pipe of the casing pipe size.
After installation, the joint is insulated by melting Raychem or Canusa foil.
