The most effective thermal insulation material is hard polyurethane foam (PUR).
Hard polyurethane insulation is produced by mixing and chemically reacting polyalcohols (polyol) and isocyanates (MDI) in a special high-pressure machine. CO2 is used as a foam blowing agent - it is therefore a CFC-free technology.
